During five months MOESK has detected almost 1,000 cases of energy “stealing” in Moscow region

JSC “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” (part of JSC Russian Grids) continues its “Fair kilowatt” action aimed to cut “stealing” of power. In this May our company specialists carried out above 250 checks in order to detect unsanctioned use of power.

As a result of checks 143 protocol of out of meter power consumption were made. According to the protocols 51.1 million kWh were used in violating use rules. About 11 million kWh are included to the energy bills to be paid for the people who previously violated power use rules.

In May 2015 JSC “MOESK” made 65 protocols for 29.1 million kWh with respect to power use without contract concluding. The total cost of power consumption without contract according to the protocols amounts to 190.6 million rubles.

Among the largest violators of power use rules in the capital is Moscow office building, its power use without contract worth more than 80 million rubles, and non residential premise, its power use without contract worth about 1.5 million ruble for five months of this year.

In total since the beginning of 2015 JSC “MOESK” has drawn up 657 protocols for 161.6 million kWh with respect to out of meter power use and 317 protocols for 92.5 million kWh with respect to power use without contract concluding. The amount of confirmed power consumption without contract is 522 million rubles.

JSC “MOESK” wants to recall that unsanctioned use of electric power is dangerous and brings no profit. The cost of power consumption without contract concluding calculated in accordance with the legislation may be in times higher the cost of actually consumed energy, and connection to the power lines by unauthorized person is extremely dangerous and may cause death. Besides, unauthorized work with power lines reduces power supply quality of other customers, damage of equipment and may cause fires.
