On June 6, 2018, media representatives visited the Situation and Analytical Center (SAC) of PJSC "MOESK" – a single center that controls the power supply for the 2018 World Cup 2018 in Moscow.
From June 14 to July 15, 2018 the World Cup will be held in the Russian Federation. 49 substations (SS) and complete transformer substations (CTS) of PJSC "MOESK" (included in the GC "Rosseti") in Moscow are preparing for electricity supply of 109 sports and socially significant objects of World Cup.
In order to monitor, analyze and react quickly to the power supply of the WC-2018 in the PJSC "MOESK", the Situation and Analytical Center (SAC) was established. Its main task is the coordination of works to ensure reliable electricity supply to the sites of World Cup in Moscow and the Moscow region. All electric grid facilities of the company will be transferred to the special operating mode for the duration of the football tournament. Monitoring of the operational situation and analysis of operational reliability will be entrusted to the SAC – a modern multifunctional complex with a control panel consisting of six video cubes capable of real-time monitoring of the operation of substations and transmission lines.
Deputy Head of the Central Operational and Technological Department of PJSC "MOESK" Vyacheslav Lebed told reporters that in total 13 people who have already completed additional training will be involved. The duty shift will include a duty officer, a security guard and a duty officer on communications.
During the period of the championship, the specialists of the City Municipal Complex will perform tasks on monitoring the operational situation at the electric grid facilities involved in the World Cup 2018, providing information and analytical support, analyzing and forecasting the development of technological accidents and contingencies, and, if necessary, monitoring of the production of emergency and recovery work carried out by all organizations involved in providing external power supply.
In the event of abnormal situations, the SAC will ensure rapid coordination of work to eliminate the causes and restore normal power supply. Its technical equipment allows to react promptly to any emergency situations, as well as to forecast their possible development. Information interaction is established in the center with the supervisory authorities and response units.
The effectiveness of the SAC was confirmed during the Confederations Cup in 2017.
Journalists also visited the control panel of the Moscow high-voltage networks – the branch of PJSC "MOESK", where the head of the operational and technological management of the Moscow high-voltage networks – the branch of PJSC "MOESK" Dmitry Mazur said that the power of the City Complex of Moscow gave about 50 megawatt power to the objects of the Championship. The big sports arena "Luzhniki" – 24 MW, about 13 MW – to CSKA stadium.
