Power engineers of JSC “MOESK” completed reconstruction of the first stage of substation 110 kV “Tkatskaya”. As a result of modernization cost of the introduced fixed assets on this object will amount to RUR mln 90. The necessity of substation’s reconstruction was raised by obsolete equipment from the moment of construction of power centre in 1954.

Substation is situated in Central administrative district and provides with electric power residential quarters, tens of important social and industrial objects of the city, including City Clinical Hospital named after S.P. Botkin, Moscow Zoo, Mosgortrans, underground depot “Krasnaya Presnya”, embassies of foreign countries, meat packing plant, Voluntary Sport Society “Trud”, plant “Rassvet”, Byelorussian railway station.

At the first stage together with replacement of power transformer with capacity of 63 MVA to transformer with capacity of 80 MVA disconnectors 6, 10 and 110 kV and disconnect switches 6 and 10 kV were replaced. SF6 circuit-breaker 110 kV was installed to strengthen circuit reliability. Instead of uninstalled relay protection equipment of electromechanical operation new, digital equipment on microprocessor element base was installed. Because of absence of free space for placement of relay protection and automation panels easily constructed building was mounted. All works of the first stage were completed before the beginning of heating season.

According to words of Deputy Director General – Director of Central Electric Grids Roman Voynov, after replacement of the second power transformer integral installed capacity of substation “Tkatskaya” will achieve 160 MVA in 2013. Renewed power centre will not only increase reliability of electric power supply of Central administrative district, but also allow to provide with electric power new consumers in the center of the capital.
