Energy specialists of Moscow United Electric Grid Company complete reconstruction of the substation “Planernaya”. The feeding center of 110 kilovolts in voltage along with substations “Aeroport” and “Sheremet’evo” forms the largest energy center of the northern Moscow Region.

The modernization will result in a significant reliability enhancement and capacity reserve growth of the energy unit, which provides electricity to retail networks of hypermarkets “Auchan”, “Mega”, “Leroy Merlin”, parts of residential areas of Khimki, and nearly total Solnechnogorsk District of the Moscow Area. The largest consumers of electricity in the zone of responsibility of the site are international airport “Sheremet’evo” and airfreight terminal “Cargo”. The cost of reconstruction exceeds RUR 500 million.

The substation is equipped with two high-capacity transformers of 63 MVA each (one of them is already on). Installation of gas-insulated equipment, installation of modern metering systems and systems controlling state of equipment, relay protection devices has been completed.

Reconstruction of “Planernaya”, which was held as part of the Company’s investment program by engineers of the branch “Northern Electric Grids” of JSC “MOESK”, will completely eliminate the occurrence of overload or capacity lack for strategic facilities in case of process failures at one of the feeding centers.
