JSC “MOESK” plans to expand more than 275 hectares of PL (power lines) in the southern Moscow Area in 2013 and bring them in compliance with the normative state. Extensive work will significantly reduce the number of outages and improve reliability of electricity supply.

“The volume of the work performed in the last two years has given notable result - outages due to trees falling onto power lines have become much less”, Alexander Panchenko, chief engineer of Southern Electric Grids - the branch of JSC “MOESK” said. “This figure declined in 2012 compared to 2011 almost 3 times. Subject to proven technology we hope to implement this year’s plan successfully as well to bring the routes of power lines into compliance with the standards.”

The specialists of JSC “MOESK” will hold works in 2013 at more than 650 km of power lines of 6-10 kV distribution grids and high-voltage lines of 35-220 kV in the Podolsk, Stupino, Ramenskoye, Kashira, Serebryanye Prudy and other districts. Particular attention is given to the lines ensuring supply of electricity to socially important facilities of the Moscow Area: OL 110 “Mar’yino-Letovo”, “Gulevo-Podolsk 1.2”, “Streletskaya – Pushchino”, etc.

To date, 43 hectares at 6-10 kV overhead lines in the Chekhov, Serpukhov and Domodedovo Districts have been felled.

Implementation of routes clearing actions will provide reliable protection of PL against possible trees falling. The actions performed are also an important factor in improving fire safety of power facilities of JSC “MOESK” upon occurrence of the period of maximum temperatures.
