The Board of Directors of the Moscow United Electric Grid Company (MOESK) approved the action plan of the energy preservation and energy efficiency improvement program for the period 2014-2019.

"We have clear targets to reduce electricity transmission losses and improve efficiency of resource spending on production and business activities of the company. The list of the actions ensuring maximum effect includes the organization of electricity commercial metering, implementation of energy-efficient equipment and technologies, development of the energy management system under the standard ISO 500001," the head of the innovations and energy efficiency administration of JSC "MOESK" Alexey Hayustov said.

Economic benefit of the program is estimated equal to RUR 5.9 bn, or 1,720 million kWh of electricity.

In percentage terms, it is planned to reduce the loss of electricity during transmission from 9.16% in 2013 to 7.95% in 2019 out of the electricity supply to the grid; amounts of electricity consumed for the needs of the company - by 5.5 million kWh, water – by 63.1 thous. m³.

Additional energy saving effect will be achieved through the implementation of the activities of the investment program: replacement of overloaded and worn transformers, enhancement of transmission capacity of 35-220 kV power lines, translation of the electrical grid to a higher voltage class.
