PJSC “MOESK” (belongs to the Rosseti Group of Companies) continues replacing uninsulated wires with self-supporting insulated wires (SSIW). The works are carried out in accordance with the schedule.
As of the beginning of October this year, 1 065 km of non-insulated wires have been replaced with SSIW-2.3. The total of 1 425 km of uninsulated wires of 0.4-10 kV overhead transmission lines will be replaced with SSIW-2.3 in 2015. The major part of works on 0.4-10 kV transmission lines was performed by PJSC “MOESK” in preparation for the autumn and winter period 2015-2016.
The plan to replace uninsulated wires in Moscow with self-supporting insulated wires covers 427 km, 238 km of wires of overhead transmission lines have been replaced. In the Moscow Region there have been replaced 827 km of wires out of 998 km planned for the year.
The self-supporting insulated wire is more reliable than conventional wires. Increased durability of cores and isolation discounts the possibility of the wire breakage. The self-supporting insulated wire has a long service life of 40-50 years.
The efficient use of the modern self-supporting insulated wires in transmission lines makes it possible to considerably improve reliability of electric power supply to consumers through reducing losses and operation and maintenance costs.
