Competitions of electricians’ professional mastery in repairing and installation of cable communication lines will be held in JSC "MOESK"

In High-Voltage Cable Networks (HVCN) – a branch of Joint-Stock Company "Moscow United Electric Grid Company" preparation for the competitions of electricians’ professional mastery is being made.

In the competitions, which will be hold in the beginning of November, 35 electricians will take part from six branches of HVCN - Operational Dispatching Office (ODO), Teleautomatics And Subcommutation Shop, Oil-filled And Polyethylene-insulated Cables Shop, Oil Preparation And Injection Shop, High Pressure Cables Shop, Section Of Cable Lines’ Maintenance.

There will be four stages of the competitions. In three stages – “Knowledge evaluation of current Normative Legal Acts, regulating electricians’ activity in departments of HVCN”, “Knowledge evaluation of current rules and regulations on occupational safety ”, as well as “Еvaluation of theoretical knowledge, rules and practical skills in first-aid dressing” – electricians from all teams will take part. During “Demonstration of electricians’ professional mastery during execution of productive works” electricians’ skill level will be testing taking into account particularity of each department’s activity. 

On organizers’ plan a task to repair damaged cable with cross-linked polyethylene insulation will be given to the team from Oil-filled And Polyethylene-insulated Cables Shop. To do this the team on equipped workplace should make cable preparation at the point of fault, restore damaged area and execute packaging work of restored area.

At first the team from High Pressure Cables Shop will has to tune bleed valve of automatic injection plant to the desired mode of operation, later they will have to find a reason of disconnection of power supply machine in chain of process safeguard of cable line.

The team from Oil Preparation and Injection Shop will do oil test, vacuum-oil processing and will infill pressure tank by oil. The team from Teleautomatics and Subcommutation Shop will do installation of ferrule, and a problem of determination of faulted point at oil-filled cable line will be set to the team from Operational Dispatching Office. The team from The Section of Cable Lines’ Maintenance will demonstrate their skills in pyrotechnic puncture of cable.

“Competitions of electricians’ professional mastery in repairing and installation of cable communication lines are holding for the first time,” deputy director of HVCN on human resource management Andrey Yagremtsev claimed, “this arrangement is organized in order to raise electricians’ professional mastery level, for experience exchange, for implementation of new forms and methods of work, aimed at decreasing of number of incidents at equipment operation and accidents.”
