Southern Electric Networks, a branch of JSC “MOESK”, pays much attention to training and development of employees. In 2010, more than RUR 5 million is spent on it.

Special attention is given to training of personnel on issues of labor protection, and industrial safety at work. Annually, almost 90% of personnel of SEN pass through training and additional training on these issues.

Main emphasis is laid at education of operative, and operative and maintenance personnel.

In accordance with the schedule of events on prevention of industrial injures at JSC “MOESK”, more than 220 employees of SEN from the structure of field service teams, teams on maintenance of 0.4-10 kV air lines and transformer substations, passed through training regarding sale methods of work at training ground of Ramensk electric grids district from 25 till 30 August, 2010. The implemented event had the following aims: to teach production personnel of electric grid districts to apply portable protective earth to air lines with 0.4 and 6-10 kV isolated cables, to establish protective earths at supports, ground, and elevated work platforms; to work out methods and skills on repair and assembling of SIP-3 cables. The program of training included both theoretical and practical courses with final test of acquired knowledge.

Galina Petrova, the Head of the Department for Labor and Health Protection, noted that “implementation of such events was aimed at prevention of traumatism at work, and provision of reliability in professional activities”.

Currently, higher professional education in the field of electric energy by means of the branch is being gained by 5 employees of the enterprise, average professional education by 6 persons. Intact form of education is actively used. More than 400 branch’s employees have took this advantage.

As of today, 68% of personnel of SCN have already achieved higher and medium special education.

Planned certification of employees is being carried out at the Company as well to form high-professional personnel and provide for good conditions for professional growth.

Due to Andrey Nesmeyanov, the Deputy Director for Personnel Management of SCN, “successfulness of the Company’s operation depends on the level of professionalism of personnel and on the level their knowledge and skills correspond with modern requirements. Education and additional training are one of priority tasks of JSC “MOESK”.
