During the implemented works, electric energy engineers assembled and put into operation modern sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers, and replaced outdated disconnect devices with porcelain isolators for 100 kV capacity with new devices with polymer isolators and remote control.

To remind, electric disconnection devices are substations’ switching equipment of high importance. They are intended for electric grids commutation at normal and accident regimes, as well as operation in cycles of automated reclosing. These sulfur hexafluoride circuit breakers represent more modern and developed generation of switching equipment in comparison with old ones used to be carried out. They have such opportunities as explosion and fire safety, speed work, and availability at every cycle of automated reclosing, comparably small weight, high level of resistance to corrosion, cost effectiveness, and long service term.

Due to Mikhail Berdnikovich, the Director of South-West Circular High-Voltage Electric Grids (OVES) of Central Electric Networks, “Modernization of “Zyuzino” substation allowed for increase in reliability of electric energy supply of such blocks as “Zyuzino” and “Konkovo” of South-Western district of the capital where building of houses is being carried out”.

Reconstruction of energy point has been carried out within the boundaries of investment program of JSC “MOESK”. Total amount of capital investments at Central Electric Networks in 2010 is to exceed RUR 2.3 billion.
