As from the morning of 9 January, 238 emergency elimination brigades (1,211 people and 181 units of heavy equipment) started restoration of electricity supply of the Moscow Area. The main goals set for the power specialists remain the same: clearing of heaps of trees and restoration of the normal electricity supply scheme of the facilities in the Moscow Region.

Within 8 January, 250 brigades of the specialists of JSC “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” (“MOESK”) and their colleagues, who came to their rescue from other operational companies of IDGC Holding and from JSC “UES FGC”, as well as contract organizations conducted the works at 10 power lines of 35 kV, one line of 110 kV and one line of 220 kV, which remained de-energized, in the branches of JSC “MOESK” - Western, Southern and Eastern Electric Grids and at the 35 kV substation “Valuiki” (Western Electric Grids), the last feeding center of JSC “MOESK’, which was not put into operation. The main task of the day was cutting of menacing trees. The trees, which had fallen upon the wires, were removed, and heaps of the trees were cleared at the 35 kV overhead power lines Korobovo-Pyshlitsy (Eastern Electric Grids) and Klimovskaya-Molchanovo 1 (Southern Electric Grids). In total, the power specialists liquidated the heaps of 2,626 fallen trees, restored 134 supports and almost 28 km of wire during the past day solely at low voltage lines of 0.4-6-10 kV.

The power specialists commissioned five 35 kV power lines on 8 January: Rumyantsevo-Petrovskaya 1, Lyshchevo-Petrovskaya 1, Vypolzovo-Krylovo, Klenovo-Emtsovo (all the above are related to Western Electric Grids) and in the south of the Moscow Area - Klimovskaya-Esino.
