The scheduled lesson on the subject “Cable lines of electrical power systems” has been given for the students of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI) within one of the production department of High-Voltage Cable Networks – the branch of JSC “MOESK”. The intention of such lesson organizers was not only to help the students in better understanding of ins and outs of their occupation, but also to attract potential newcomers to work at the capital’s grid complex enterprises, to form skill pool and provide succession in the power industry.

The students visited HVCN museum of equipment where Senior Engineer of Power Cable Lines and Technologies Department Oleg Smirnov acquainted them with cables and cable accessories types which are in operation of High-Voltage Cable Networks.

Anatoly Kudriavtsev, Head of Production and Technical Department of HVCN, told the future power engineers about the company’s main areas of activity and development outlook as well as about social guarantees for the enterprise’s employees. He emphasized that the enterprise holds an interest in attracting young personnel.

Demonstration of mobile laboratory of Testing and Measuring Service (TMS) in operation caught the great interest of guests. The state-of-the-art laboratory equipment makes it possible to detect defects in cable line equipment isolation and localize cable faults. Sergey Khalyapin, Deputy Head of TMS told about the equipment operation.

The students had an opportunity to communicate with other company’s specialists, many of whom are also graduates from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. Head of TMS Sergey Silaev, Head of Personnel Training and Development Department Vladimir Il’yushin and others answered questions from the guys.

Vladimir Tulsky, associate professor of the electric energy systems department of MPEI thanked the team of HVCN for the useful activity and expressed hope that the MPEI graduates would replenish the collective of High-Voltage Cable Networks.
