The technicians of the northern branch of MOESK will replace the transformer of 40 MVA in capacity by that of 63 MVA during the second phase of the comprehensive reconstruction of “Sheremet’yevo” 110/10/6 kV substation. Installation of the second similar transformer to replace the worn-out one will be completed soon after engagement of the OS (outdoor switchgear) of 110 kV which was assembled in March of 2013. Translation of 110 kV feeding to new equipment, six cells of which are provided with gas-insulated tank-type breakers made by Balashikhinskiy production plant “Eurocontract - High Voltage Equipment”, is scheduled for June 2013, and the end of all construction works at the substation “Sheremet’yevo” - for the third quarter of 2013.

It should be noted that the second phase of reconstruction of the substation “Sheremet’yevo” involved as well a team of technical specialists from the Northern Electric Grids who study in Balashikha based on the manufacturing plant under the program of gas-insulated equipment maintenance. The group participates in assembling new breakers besides attending the process. The skills acquired during training enable them to perform all types of maintenance from measurement of parameters and verification of settings of sulfur hexafluoride density sensors to creation of a diagnostic system (monitoring).

It is already clear now that training of own staff under the program of gas-insulated circuit breakers after-sales service was justified because, among other things, it allows to reduce significantly, if necessary, time of repair of any segment of gas-insulated equipment and without manufacturer’s help.

Reconstruction of the feeding center will significantly increase reliability of power supply of the international airport “Sheremet’yevo” and the northern Moscow Area.
