Federal Grid Company together with IDGC Holding, OJSC held a training seminar in the branch of JSC “MOESK” – “Moscow Cable Grids” which was devoted to “Electric Vehicles and Charging Infrastructure” for representatives of transmission electric grids of JSC “UES FGC” and subsidiaries and affiliates of IDGC Holding, OJSC.

During the seminar, the speeches were delivered by Roman Berdnikov, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “UES FGC”; Petr Sinyutin, Director General of JSC “MOESK”; Vadim Fyodorov, head of the technical development and innovation department of IDGC Holding, OJSC; Denis Tsypulev, Deputy Head of the Directorate for Development, Information Technologies and operational efficiency of JSC “MOESK”; Maxim Osorin, Director General of LLC “Revolta”.

Roman Berdnikov, in particular, told about the prospects of the all-Russia program for development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the Russian Federation. The program developed by JSC “UES FGC” and IDGC Holding, OJSC may be approved in April already. It provides for system participation of the electric grid complex in development of the electric vehicles and charging infrastructure market. The document focuses on creation of a publicly accessible (for personal and commercial EVs) and specialized (for public vehicles) charging infrastructure and widespread use of electric vehicles for production needs of electric grids and other owners having corporate car stocks. In addition, implementation of the program will stimulate innovation, commercialization of R&D of the electric grid complex, development of domestic automobile industry and nanotechnological industry.

Petr Sinyutin, MOESK Head said that as a result of implementation of the project MOESK-EV”, unique experimental data were obtained on operation of electric vehicles and charging stations, taking into account different types of local weather and road conditions. Besides, a business model of participation of grid distribution companies participating in the charging infrastructure market was elaborated. The Director General sees the further prospect of participation of MOESK in further implementation of the business model in strengthening the research capacity of exploitation of various purposes cars. For this purpose, the company car stock can be extended up to 30 electric vehicles by the end of this year.

Representatives of the electric grid companies, who arrived in Moscow from different regions of the country studied formation of the world and domestic markets of electric transport, technical and economic aspects of its operation, discussed the current state and development of the charging infrastructure market in the world and Russia, current and future standards for the charging infrastructure.

The seminar participants got acquainted with the work of the network of charging stations on the basis of the branch of JSC “MOESK”, took part in the test drive of different models of electric vehicles, and obtained answers to questions interactively about the impact on the electric charging infrastructure on the electric grids, improvement of grid efficiency through charging infrastructure, lessons of the pilot project “MOESK-EV”.
