Within the framework of the investment program of High-Voltage Cable Grids (HVCG) - the branch of JSC “Moscow United Electric Grid Company”, they developed a project of reconstruction of a cable section of cable and overhead line (COL) of 220 kV Matveevskaya – Presnya circuit I, II with increased capacity of up to 1,000 amps.

The reconstruction is performed to increase transmission capacity of electrical power and improve reliability of power supply for consumers in the Western Administrative District of the capital Western administrative district of the capital. Cable line crosses the Moskva River, Kutuzovsky Avenue, Kulneva, 1812 Goda, Denisa Davydova, Generala Yermolova Streets, as well as Kiev Railway Line and Fili Metro Line.

The length of the cable line is nearby 5 kilometers, over 32 kilometers of cable will be placed along it, 60 couplings will be installed. Modern methods of installation - horizontal directional drilling, works in underwater manifold, and other ones will be applied in the complicated route of the cable line.

Construction of CL 220 kV of S “Matveevskaya – Presnya”1,2” will be completed in 2014. According to the general contractor of “Moskabel’set’montazh” - subsidiary of JSC “MOESK”, excavations for digging a trench at the site are currently held.

Besides, as part of the HVEG investment program, reconstruction of the cable line 110 kV “Vostochnaya - Cherkizovo 1.2” is held. Reconstruction is held to increase electrical capacity transmission and envisages replacement of oil-filled cable of 625 mm2 section by cross link polyethylene insulation cable with the section of 1,200 mm2. The length of the route of the reconstructed site is 2.7 km. The total length of the cable with XLPE insulation, which is to be laid, is about 16.5 km. The reconstruction will increase reliability of power supply in the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow.
