Specialists of branch of JSC “MOESK” - Southern Electric Grids have completed the main part of the works on the first reconstruction stage of 110 kV “Bronnitsy” substation (SS) in Ramenskiy district of Moscow region.

Renovation of substation “Bronnitsy” is made in two stages. The first stage consists in substituting of both transformers by 25 MVA by more powerful ones – 40 MVA. Subsequently, the capacity increase of the feeding center up to 126 MVA and a substitution of the obsolete energy equipment are stipulated, including 110 kV outdoor switchgear and the process control system.

The last year the first power transformer T2 with the capacity of 40 MVA was put into service at SS. This year the construction and installation works started as early as in January. During a short period of time transformer T1 - 25 MVA was dismantled, whereupon a new oil receiver was constructed and a transformer with the capacity of 40 MVA was installed to a proper location.

The first stage completion of the substation’s renewal is planned to be done till the end of March of 2013, after carrying out of commissioning trials of the equipment and commissioning of the second transformer.

As Anatoliy Rogov, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Southern Electric Grids as regards the high-voltage grids, specified “the decision on a stage-by-stage reconstruction of the substation, and as a matter of fact – the introduction of the more powerful power supply source, was taken with the goal to fulfill successfully the primary function, imposed on an electric grid enterprise – the reliable and qualitative provision with electric power of the Moscow region’s consumers. Besides that, the result of the renovation made, will become a major problem removal of SS’s overload and the capacity reserve creation for safe carrying out of repair works and grid connection of the new consumers in Ramenkiy district”.
