JSC “MOESK” Has Assigned Almost RUR 950 mn for Electric Grid Facilities Repairs from Year Beginning

Today, performance of the repair program of JSC “MOESK” (Moscow United Electric Grid Company) is conducted in accordance with the approved plans, or ahead of them. From the beginning of the year, the costs of repairs of the electric grid complex have exceeded RUR 949 million. Total funding of the repair campaign in 2013 in MOESK is about RUR 5 bn.

“The program is gathering pace: the second and third quarters are the period when the main volume of the work has been implemented”, Nikita Dement’yev, Deputy Technical Director for power grid assets technical condition control of JSC “MOESK” said.

Based on the results for the first four months of this year, MOESK can show overfulfillment of targets on capital repairs of 35-220 kV (33 pcs.), clearing routes for overhead power lines of 35-220 kV (127 hectares) and 0.4 - 10 kV (166 ha), repairs of 0.4-220 kV cable lines (59.8 km). Overhaul was performed at 308 km of 35-220 kV OL and 410 km of 0.4-10 kV OL. Substations less than 220 kV passed through repairs of 637 breakers and electrical equipment in the number of 776 pieces, 155 power transformers of 6-10 kV.

One of the important areas of the repair campaign 2013 is implementation of measures to replace bare conductors of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines by self-supporting insulated wire (SIW). It took 4 months for MOESK specialists to replace about 170 km of wires by modern SIW, which increased greatly the reliability and quality of power supply of settlements in the territory of the Moscow Area, Troitsk and Novomoskovsk administrative districts (TaNAD). Replacement of non-insulated wire SIW-2, SIW-3 with increasing wire cross-section allowed to increase grid capacity and reliability of power supply in 10 settlements in the New Moscow territory: settl. Rogovo, village Yakovlevo and village Starogromovo, village Klenovo, village Rudnevo, village Lukoshkino, village Red Pakhra, village Varvarino, village Voronovo, village Nikonovo.

According to Andrey Miridonov, Deputy Technical Director for distribution grids of JSC “MOESK”, by the end of 2013, as a result of maintenance activities and investment programs, it is planned to reduce time of electricity supply recovery in the Moscow Area on the average from 3 hours 12 minutes to 3 hours 01 minute, for consumers of the TaNAD of Moscow - from 2:00 54 minutes to 2 hours 47 minutes.

When implementing the comprehensive maintenance program as one of the priorities of the Moscow United Electric Grid Company, high-tech equipment, materials and components are used, and this ensures reliable electricity supply to consumers.
