As a part of fulfillment of “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” investment program, “Central Electric Grids” (CEG) — a branch of JSC “MOESK” is finishing the first stage of the reconstruction of 110/10 kV substation (SS) “Mayakovskaya”. As a result of installation two up-to-date transformers of 125 MVA, SS “Mayakovskaya” will be open for grid connection of new consumers.

As explained by Alexander Mikhailov, the Director of DHVEG (District High-Voltage Electric Grids) of CAD (Central Administrative District) “Central Electric Grids”, more powerful transformer of 125/110/10 was managed to put into a closed chamber. At the first stage of the reconstruction current limiting reactors, a transformer lead, breakers were replaced. At the second stage it is stipulated to replace 10kV awitchgear.

Realizing modernization of SS “Mayakovskaya”, which was put into operation more than four decades ago, will enable to lift restrictions on grid connection of new consumers.

Earlier on, two tranformers of 80 MVA were installed on the substation. Their mode of operation was closed to rated duty.

'”Works on reconstruction of SS “Mayakovskaya” started more than a year ago. The first transformer was replaced in spring of the current year. It’s in the planning stage to switch-on the second transformer before the end of June”, said Pavel Samylov, Deputy Director, Engineer-in-Chief of CEG (Central Electric Grids) — a branch of “MOESK”. – This substation supply consumers of Central Administrative District of Moscow, provides socially and economically significant facilities with electric power. JSC “Tryokhgornaya manufacture”, shopping centers “Okhotny ryad” and “Smolenskiy”, hotels “Moskva” and “Mariott Grand”, residential complexes near Arbat are among them. As far as the capital rates of growth increase every year, we must not be slow. As a result of replacement of outdated transformers with new ones, the feeding center capacity increased 2 times. Installed equipment is more compact in comparison with the old one, and fit out with up-to-date cooling system. Besides that, transformers of such a type are installed in a chamber for the first time in Russia. I would like to thank Administration of Capital construction of CEG(Central electric grids), personnel of MCG (Moscow cable grids) and DHVEG (District High-Voltage Electric Grids) CAD (Central Administrative District), as challenging task on carrying out of the reconstruction under conditions of operating substation, came upon them”.

The total of investment of CEG (Central electric grids) – a branch of “MOESK” into the modernization of SS “Mayakovskaya” will amount to 204 billion rubles.
