Works on installation of autotransformer 250 MVA are completed at 220/110/10 kV substation (SS) “Presnya” (branch of JSC “MOESK” – Central Electric Grids).
It is already the second new autotransformer (AT), put into operation at substation in the current year. It replaced less powerful 200 MVA AT.
Installation of modern equipment is a part of large-scale works on substation’s reconstruction, held in the frames of Investment program of JSC “MOESK”. By the end of the year it is planned to complete construction of new building of cubicle switchgear with SF6 insulation, mount modern high-voltage equipment on the territory of “Presnya”.
“Customer of reconstruction of SS “Presnya” was JSC “MOESK”. Meanwhile all installed equipment will be signed to balance of Central Electric Grids and our specialists will service it”, - Director of CEG Roman Voynov noted.
Branch’s Head also especially pointed out effective interaction of executive apparatus of JSC “MOESK”, Department of fuel and energy facilities of Moscow, CEG, Moscow Cable Grids, contracting organizations, which allowed to begin repair works ahead of heating season completion and provided equipment replacement at substation in strict terms. In its turn CEG’s power engineers’ professionalism allowed to make AT replacement period, for which from 30 to 45 days are usually given, insensible for consumers: neither cut-offs, nor disturbances in electric power supply were made.
According to CEG’s Director, the main reason for the held transformers replacement is – increase of power consumption in metropolis: new high buildings are being built, industry produces more household electrical appliances, which lighten people’s lives.
“Power engineers should keep up, both from the point of view of technical solutions and in respect of demand of new power capacities. Putting into operation of new transformers at CEG’s substations will positively influence stability of electric power supply of consumers, significantly improve its quality and will allow to lay a groundwork for the further development of Moscow power system”, - Head of substations service of CEG Mikhail Berdnikovich thinks.
We’d like to note than reconstruction process touched also upon other CEG’s facilities. For four months of the current year more than RUR mln 500 were allocated for these goals in the frames of investment program. As a result, from the beginning of the year MOESK’s central branch has already installed four new transformers.
