Branch of MOESK – High-Voltage Cable Grids Gets Ready to Heating Season

Preparation to the heating season (HS) of years 2013/14 is being implemented in a branch of JSC “MOESK” – High-voltage Cable Grids (HVCG) without gaps in the approved schedules. HVCG’s specialists report on a weekly basis about the course of the works performed.

Preparation to the autumn and winter peak loads includes an entire complex of the arrangements. So, the power engineers plan to carry out an inspection of 207 end bells, provide a fulfillment of capital repair of 10 junction wells. The planned repair works of 2 collecting mains and auxiliary equipment of 15 braking and junction wells have been performed to the full extent. On the eve of the AWP a big attention is paid to the repair of buildings and structures, readiness of the heating systems, readiness of a motor park and special vehicles park.

Non-scheduled checks of the communication channels, function of the dispatcher switchboard, correctness of the remote information passing to the dispatcher station of HVCG are being carried out, as well as cabling and checking of the measurement equipment.

Special attention is paid to the work with the personnel, including carrying out joint trainings, drill of the actions in case of an emergent situation, re-training and advanced training of the employees. The instructions giving as regards the work peculiarities in terms of low temperatures is planned.

“As it’s known, having scarcely completed a heating period, the power engineers start at once implementing a complex of the arrangements for preparation to the work in a forthcoming period of peak loads, – specified Director of High-voltage cable grids Eduard Podadaev. – The preparation to winter in HVCG is made according to the approved repair and investment programs. The main scope of the works is planned to be completed in the third quarter”.
