The subsidiary of JSC “MOESK” – “Moskabel’set’montazh” (MKSM) performs works on the reconstruction of 110 kV cable line “Choboty – Polet 1.2” with the length of 7.1 km. Cable route goes through the Western and Novomoskovsk administrative districts of Moscow.The reconstruction involves replacement of high-pressure oil-filled cable with the conductor 625 square mm cross-section by the modern cable with cross-linked polyethylene insulation (city- cable made by NKT cables, Germany) with the conductor 630 square mm cross-section.
City Cable is laid in the existing channels after removing the old line, after which the MKSM experts will begin installation of the couplings.
The works at the facility are conducted in order to improve reliability of power supply of the capital residents, in particular, the Western Administrative District of Moscow.
Completion of the reconstruction is planned for Q4 2013. The works are held within the frameworks of the investment program of JSC “MOESK” High-voltage Cable Grids.

City Cable is a three-wire cable with cross-linked polyethylene insulation, which is a structural element of one chain (i.e., all three phases are located in the same case). This type of cable is ideal for cable lines in big cities. City Cable was used by High-voltage Cable Grids of MOESK for the first time in Moscow during the reconstruction of the cable line of 110 kV “HPP -1 - branch of HPP- 1”.
