DSC03248.JPGIn the course of the next phase of the renovation of the 220/110/6 kV Substation “Ucha”, the specialists of the branch of JSC “MOESK” Northern Electric Grids (NEG) put in operation the power transformer T-3 of 40 MVA. This is a key moment of the final phase of the substation retooling, after which they can start replacement of two transformers of 250 MVA each at the feeding center.

According to the director of NEG Alexey Irzhak, installation of two power transformers of 40 MVA and two auto-transformers of 250 MVA will significantly increase the capacity output from TPP-27 to the 110 kV grid all over the north of the Moscow Area, will expand the opportunities for grid connection of MOESK new consumers. Completion of the project will be in December 2013. The total investment exceeds RUR 2.22 bn, including this year’s one amounting to nearby RUR 170 mn.

The earlier stages of the reconstruction of the substation “Ucha”, which started in 2007, included replacement of oil-filled switching equipment by modern gas-insulated switches outdoor switchgears (OS) of 110 kV and 220 kV, construction of the substation control house with modern batteries and new shields DC. The latest safety and control systems based on microprocessor technology providing a high level of technological and operational services of the feeding center were applied.

The substation “Ucha” which was built in 1972 is a system substation that supports the grid of 110 kV of the Mytischi and Pushkin Districts of the Moscow Area. The 6 kV grid performs electricity supply of more than 350,000 residents, as well as widely extensive infrastructure of the recreation areas, north of water pipe plant of JSC “Mosvodokanal”. The substation “Ucha”, together with the line of 220 kV “HPP -27 – “Ucha” which was built in 2009, provides output of capacity from gas steam energy unit of the electric power plant with capacity of 450 MW.
