Rosseti Moscow Region ends reconstructing high-voltage transmission lines to build a new public and business area in Moscow

A set of works was completed on the reassembly of 110 kV overhead lines to Krasnogorskaya substation in the west of Moscow in the Rublevo-Arkhangelskoye new public and business district construction site.

The conversion of high-voltage power lines was necessary for allotting the construction site for a new residential district in Moscow with full infrastructure and a planned population of over 65 thousand people; in total, more than 2 km of overhead lines were converted.

A total of about 54 kilometers of cable were laid to convert six overhead lines to cable version. Thus, during the modernization of "Krasnogorskaya - Nakhabino Lines I, II" 110 kV aerial cable line, more than 13 km of cable were laid, 24 couplings, 6 terminal couplings, and 6 gas-insulated terminal inputs were installed; as for "Krasnogorskaya - Strogino Lines I, II" 110 kV aerial cable line, more than 10 km of cable were laid, 12 couplings, 6 terminal couplings, 6 gas-insulated terminal inputs were installed; as for "Krasnogorskaya - Rublevo Lines I, II" 110 kV aerial cable line, more than 31 km of cable were laid, 48 couplings and 12 terminal couplings were installed. In addition, for the transition of the cable section to overhead, the specialists installed two closed transition points with the installation of two 110 kV gas-insulated cells.

The line routes pass through areas loaded with utilities, so the experts used trenchless horizontal directional drilling method in a number of areas. The power engineers used cables with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation to assemble aerial cable lines, which increases the safety of equipment operation and eliminates regular excavation work, in addition, XLPE reduces the risk of environmental pollution. The section of the laid cable provides an increase in the capacity of the power transmission line, which increases the reliability of power supply to consumers of the Kuntsevo district and the Krasnogorsk city district of the Moscow region in the future.

The reconstruction of the overhead line and conversion to cable version started last year, the final stage was the reconstruction of the "Krasnogorskaya - Rublevo Lines I, II" 110 kV aerial cable line. The specialists completed the entire set of works on the reconstruction of the power line in time, creating the conditions for the further construction of public and business district of Moscow.
