Moscow Cable Networks Implemented Professional Skills Competition among Centralized Repair Teams

Within the boundaries of preparation for autumn and winter period, Moscow Cable Networks (MCN) – branch of Joint-Stock Company “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” has carried out annual competition on professional skills amount centralized repair teams of distributional and transformer substations.

The competition lasted two days. Central judge commission was headed by Stepan Todirka, the Senior Engineer of the branch. Personnel of many other departments and services of the branch participated in implementation of the competition and operation of the commission. Representatives of ten cable grid departments from all Moscow districts participated in the competition. Each team consisted of the following four members: master, two electrical fitters, and a garage driver.

Solemn opening ceremony took place at the base of fourth column of the Department for Transport and Mechanization of MCN. As well, one of four stages of the competition – “Testing of garage regarding presence and level of equipment, furniture, and protection means” was carried out here as well.

Other stages of the competition took place at specially equipped class rooms of Study and Training Center of MCN. Here, personnel of the branch demonstrated their practical skills in electric energy equipment repair, reflected defects and carried out adjusting of oil switches, and sampled their speed characteristics.

Besides the practical stage, members of the commission estimated knowledge of such theoretical issues as intra-industry power engineers labor protection, rendering of predictor care to an injured person, performance of artificial resuscitation and closed-chest cardiac massage, etc.

Members of teams demonstrated their knowledge regarding electric installation structure, rules of technical operation at electric stations and grids of the Russian Federation, ruses of fire prevention safety, etc.

All participants of the competition showed excellent grounding and high level of professional skills, good knowledge of standard technical documents and instructions on electric energy equipment operation.

To notice, it was excellent grounding for the competition to allow winners to take first places.

In accordance with decision of the judge commission, Zelenograd cable network management team became the best having obtained 239.875 points of maximum 244.5. Just as the team from Zelenograd, the cable network management team of Central district retained its high position of the last year. It gained 236.825 points and took the second place. The third place was deserved by the cable network management team from Eastern district having gained 234.5 points.

Due to a member of the Commission, Head of the Department for Technical Operation of Electric Equipment, Chairman of Youth Council of MCN Alexander Ilyichev, “Main task of such competitions is increase in quality of works and safety under repair of electric equipment, improvement of professional training of personnel, exchange of experience, and reduction of number of accidents at the branch’s grid. All these parameters contribute in performance of the Company’s main mission which is high-quality and failure-free electric energy support of consumers”.
