On September 4, on the City Day, the North-Western district of Moscow, at the intersection of Katukova and Tallinskaya street will witness the solemn opening of the Moscow largest sports complex “Yantar” which power supply is carried out by Moscow Cable Grids, the branch of Moscow United Electric Grid Company.

For the power supply of the multifunctional sports complex which is ready to have simultaneously more than 3 200 spectators at a time, which health sections can be attended by more than 4 000 per month, they have made the distribution transformer substation constructed under the earth. MOESK power engineers took the unusual engineer decision. This is the underground substation consisting of four sections equipped with fifty cells of SM-6 type and the subscriber part consisting of sixteen SM-6 cells, and two power transformers of 1 250 kWA capacity each.

They also created two block-complex transformer substations of 2 BKTP type. Each substation is equipped with two power oil transformers of 1 250 kVA capacity each subjected for the power supply of two multistoried buildings build near the complex. They carry out the works directed to the construction of three more transformer substations of 2 BKTP type of 1250 kVA capacity, for the power supply of the second turn of the multistoried buildings.

To put the object into operation, from two feeding centers to the distribution substation they laid high voltage cable lines with the insulation made of the cross-linked polyethylene of 10 kV capacity, of more than 30 kilometers total length.

Currently the power supply of the complex is transited to constant feeding.

According to Alexey Nikolayevich Kosov, Chief Engineer of the 19th district of North-West district cable grids administration of the Moscow Cable Grids branch of JSC “MOESK”: “Works at the given object were carried out in accordance with the investment program of the branch of Moscow Cable Grids - Joint-Stock Company “Moscow United Electric Grid Company”. The given object is of state value, besides the fact that it can be attended by the persons living in the neighborhood; the professional sportsmen can be also trained here.
