In the Conference hall of the Central Electric Grids branch of Joint-Stock Company “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” Kaizen Institute Russia experts introduce world widely known system of management to the Company’s management and branch directors.
“Kaizen” is literally translated as “improvement” (from “kai” – “change” and “zen” – “good”). This word names the philosophy of the Japanese management. It began to develop in Japan after World War II and is considered to be the key to success achieved by the country in many sectors of economy. “Kaizen” implies the process of uninterrupted and gradual improvement, possible due to the active elimination of losses (of time, money, resources and efforts), increase of quality (of services, relationships, and staff preparation), decrease of losses for the development and production and, finally, increase of the consumers’ satisfaction level.
In his introductory word, Andrey Konovalov, JSC “MOESK” General Director pointed out: “We are extremely interested in use of the low-cost based ways of production development and Company’s activity productivity increase. That’s why we pay great attention studying Kaizen experience”.
Joint-Stock Company “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” is the leading Interregional distribution Grid Company in Russia. JSC “MOESK” renders service to 98 % of Moscow consumers and 95 % of Moscow Region consumers. The major types of activity are the rendering of services connected with electric power transmission to the consumers and technological connection to the electric grids.
Major shareholders of JSC “MOESK” are JSC “IDGC Holding” (51%), “Gazprom” group of companies (31%) and Moscow Government group of companies (8%), and more than 8 % are floating.
The company accounts for 607 high voltage feeding centers of 35/110/220 kV and total capacity of 43 713 МVА. The total length of power transmission lines of 35-220 kV accounts for 15 590 km; high voltage cable lines of 35-110-220-500 kV – 1408 km, total length of distribution electric grids is 121 145 km. The total amount of distribution and transformer substations is more than 30 thousand pieces. The number of personnel is 15 755 persons.
