During the reconstruction works of 110 kV open distribution device they completed and put into operation new SF6 circuit breaker of 110 kV cable overhead line called “Butyrki-Grazhdanskaya-1” with the tapping. The engineers go on the works directed to the substitution of the oil breaker by the SF6 one with the further creation of the overhead line called “Butyrki-Grazhdanskaya-2” with the tapping.

According to Pavel Filimonov, Head of the North-West District High Voltage Electric Grids, “electrical circuit breaker is a very important switching equipment of substations. They are subjected to the switching of electric chains during the normal and failure regimes as well as for work in cycles of the automatic and repeated switching (ARS). The given SF6 circuit breakers are new in relation to the earlier used oil ones and present the new and more developed generation of the switching equipment”. They have the set of advantages, such as: explosion and fire safety, fast reaction and suitability for work in any ARS cycle, respectively small weight, high surface corrosion resistance efficiency and long term of service”.

“Butyrki” substation is one of the most important feeding centers at the North-West of Moscow. A set of companies got the power form it, for example, Moscow Subway, “Ostankino” TV centre and “Butovo” microdistrict, where they carry the intensive construction of the new housing.
