Moscow Cable Grids (MCG) holds the permanent work in the field of observance of the requirements established by the Russian laws in the field of environment preservation. In this connection the ecological service of MCG arranges internal audit of all divisions of the branch for conformity to the requirements of the nature protection laws and international standard ISO 14001:2004.

The program of check was planned, installed, implemented and observed subject to the ecological importance of the considered operations and results of the previous audits. The respective documents, including orders, regulations and so forth were developed.

The audit included the check of such criteria as conformity of the activities of the branch’s divisions to the requirements of the current nature protection laws; compliance with the established rules of storage, export, recycling of waste, and estimation of parameters of emissions of polluting substances and formation of waste to meet the approved standards.

The “audit” was held by the specialists of the ecological service of MCG – the professionals, who have great experience in this area and have higher special education in the nature protection activity and ecology.

According to Nina Malakhovskaya, chief of the ecological service of MCG, “27 scheduled checks were held in 45 divisions of the branch. They have shown that the energy enterprise performs all requirements of preservation of the environment providing high quality, including the requirements to protection of atmospheric air, land and green plantings, natural resources, management of production wastes and consumption, maintenance of nature protection structures, sanitary-protective zones, territories and places of temporary accumulation of waste”.


Moscow Cable Grids is the branch of Joint-Stock Company “Moscow United Electric Grid Company”.
The main kinds of activity are provision of electricity transmission services to consumers and technological connection to electric grids.
The branch Moscow Cable Grids operates 0.4-20 kV and 35 kV electric grids of 66,143 km in total length and 17,041 distribution and transformer substations, which serve for transportation of electricity to inhabited and public buildings, municipal facilities, electrified transport, industrial enterprises across all Moscow: from Kremlin to Kurkino and Butovo, including Zelenograd and Shcherbinka.
The total number of the personnel of the branch is more than 5,000 people.
