At 10:00 a.m. of 9 April 2011, the problems with electric power supply were experienced by the inhabitants of 70 settlements of the Moscow Area with the population of about three thousand people. The main impact of the elements reached the south and the east of the Moscow Area. In particular, 123 transformer substations were switched off in the Ramensky District, 56 – in the Podolsky District, 54 - in the Chekhovsky District, 51 in the Stupinsky District, 47 - in the Kolomensky District.
As a whole 481 transformer substations were switched-off in the Moscow Area at 10.00 a.m. of 9 April.
Including in the south of the Moscow Area - 310 TS, in the east - 80, in the north - 35, in the west - 56. Forty-eight emergency recovery brigades of Moscow United Electric Grid Company worked at the lines as at 10 o'clock in the morning. Within the day the grouping of forces will increase.
MOESK have prepared reserve power supplies due to the adverse weather forecasts: mobile power stations and diesel engine-generating units, in order to send them quickly to the districts of the area where recovery of electricity supply may last for a long time.
The company has established interaction with local authorities and structures of the EMERCOM.
