Moscow United Electric Grid Company Expands Considerably Special Equipment Park

JSC “MOESK” carried out the seminar-presentation dedicated to the purchases of the special equipment for company’s needs.

After the events of December 2010 – January 2011when the “icy” rain broke the power supply of the Moscow region consumers, including the major international Domodedovo Airport, JSC “MOESK” carried out the activities directed to the prevention of the emergency situations connected with JSC “MOESK” power transmission lines. They form the emergency reserve including the additional human and technical resources.

By October 1, 2011, Moscow United Electric Grid Company will increase the amount of the operative and dispatch personnel. As well, on the basis of the “icy” rain experience the Company forced the buying of the modern special equipment. To choose the special equipment, they take into account the maximum reliability, ecological compatibility, quality of the service maintenance and the constructor development for the power grids.

As of January 2011, JSC “MOESK” had 95 hydraulic rams and 60 scaffold trucks. 60% of the above equipment was with chassis of the increased cross-country ability. In 2011, they will carry out the considerable upgrade of the branches with the special equipment: 9 hydraulic rams and 13 handlers have been already delivered. Till autumn the amount of the hydraulic rams will be increased to 134 pieces, and the amount of scaffold trucks will be 84.The increase of JSC “MOESK” branches equipping will account for 41%, with handlers - 40%, and 66% of autohydraulic hoist will be equipped with chassis of the increased cross-country ability.

During the seminar devoted to the power equipment productivity, such special equipment producers, as “Chaika Service” (City of Nizhniy Novgorod), Tadano (Japan), Socage (Italy), told about the possibility of the cranes and hydraulic rams, taking into consideration the needs of the power engineers. For example, crane-manipulator with the board platform (TADANO crane with KAMAZ chassis) will help to transfer not only loads, but will be used for transportation of the major types of diesel-generators during the period of the emergency and recovery works.
Crane-manipulators have the load-limiting resistors, which exclude the vehicle overturning. Producing the cranes-manipulators they use the hydro components of the high quality, which provides the reliability of their work. They used the hook block with the cable linkage (the hook is not fixed at the linkage – it helps to lift up the loads more carefully and safely).

The use of the more manoeuvrable and compact tower help to decrease the time of the lines' technological violation liquidation.

Towers installed on the cross-country ability chassis help to bring the teams of workers very fast to the emergency place not only in the city conditions, but also in the heavily forested conditions. The equipment of the hydraulic rams is reliable because, the high-pressure hose and electric wiring are located inside the tower jib.
According to Fiorentzo Flici, the representative of the Intalian Company Socage in Russia: “The company’s products are in demand in Russia”. We find the technical solutions especially for power engineers, both for the distribution grids and the high voltage ones. High reliability of the equipment helps to operate the equipment in the extreme weather conditions during the implementation of the emergency-recovery works.


Together with that JSC “MOESK” has formed the sufficient reserve of the diesel-generator installations. Their amount was increased from 21 to 65 and by the autumn, the Company will have 82 generator installations with the capacity from 100 to 400 kW, as well as two movable power stations of kW 1000 capacity.
