Branch of JSC “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” – Moscow Cable Grids (MCG) completed works on reconstruction of power equipment of the largest in Russia informational agency – Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian Agency of International Information RIA Novosti”.

Power engineers replaced old cable lines of paper-oil insulation with voltage of 10 kV to cable lines 10 kV with insulation from cross-linked polyethylene, which nowadays is widely used and shows ultra-high reliability. Totally eight distribution cable lines with the total length of approximately 1 km were laid on facility.

While reconstruction of substation cable lines 10 kV, which earlier came under ceiling of agency’s locations, were removed to newly assembled channel pipes, made of modern materials. Also in existent package transformer substation replacement of transformers and equipment without increase of capacity was carried out. Instead of noisy obsolete transformers modern molded power transformers were installed, they show low noise characteristics and, what is most important, high fire safety.

This facility is included in service area of the 1st district of Department of Cable Grid in Central District (DCG CD) of Moscow Cable Grids. Head of the 1st district of DCG CD Evgeny Pogrebnyakov pointed out: “In the nearest future power engineers of Moscow Cable Grids and representatives of mass media will face further co-operation. Works on increase of existent capacity of power facility with construction of distribution substation and laying of power cable lines are planned. Future works are connected with installation of new power-consuming equipment of “Russian Agency of International Information RIA Novosti”.

Reconstruction is carried out in frames of realization of Investment Program of JSC “MOESK”.
