Hurricane, swept over the south-east of Moscow region, caused damage to distribution and high-voltage grids of MOESK’s branch - Eastern Electric Networks. In particular, the areas, related to responsibility zone of Kolomensky and Voskresensky Electric Grid Districts, were affected. Power outages were noted in the villages Tsyurupa, Konobeevo, Vinogradovo and several villages in Voskresensky district. The situation was worsened in Kolomensky district by fallen supports. Power engineers had to put up them again.

Due to the prompt actions of power engineers of Eastern Electric Networks consumers from settlements, affected by the disaster, were transferred to the backup power scheme within the shortest possible period of time. Power supply was restored. The full restoration of power supply required 24-hour period on separate sections of lines in complex technological situation (basically - subscriber substations). In the extreme case the diesel-generator sets were prepared for connection, but they were not necessary.

According to Chief Engineer of Kolomensky EGD Oleg Kozlov, after receiving the first signals about outages three trouble crews and one Emergency Response and Restoration Team were engaged. For the first two days after the storm people were working at maximum capability. That made it possible to eliminate quickly the consequences of the disaster.
