Installation of a new outdoor switchgear (OS) of 110 kV completed the first phase of reconstruction of “Sheremet’yevo” 110/10/6 kV substation (S). The advantage of the installed equipment consists primarily in the fact that its six cells are equipped with gas-insulated switches. They are explosion- and fire-proof, have a relatively low weight, high corrosion resistance of coating, efficient and designed for a long service life. OS is mounted using the scheme “two operational systems of buses”, designed for connection of three lines, two transformers and a bus coupler.

The next step is the second phase of “Sheremet’yevo” reconstruction. It will begin in mid-April, after dismantlement of the old worn-out OS. Two transformers of 40 MVA in capacity will be replaced by two transformers of 63 MVA in capacity.

Let us note that the new buildings of the 10 kV indoor switchgear (IS) and substation control board (SCB) have already been built and are fully equipped with standard equipment in the course of “Sheremet’yevo” reconstruction. Building and construction works at the substation are to be completed in the third quarter of 2013.

The result of the re-equipment of the feeding center will be improvement of reliability of power supply of the international airport “Sheremet’yevo” and the ability to connect new consumers of Solnechnogorsk (Moscow Area) to the grid.
