The branch of JSC “MOESK” - Southern Electric Grids continues performance of the works on reconstruction of “Vesennaya” 110kV substation (S) in the Podolsk District of the Moscow Area, which began last year.

The required volume of the substation modernization includes replacement of two power transformers 2x25 MVA by 2x40 MVA, which will increase capacity of S by 60%. Reconstruction of the indoor switchgear of 110 kV under the scheme “two working bus system with a bypass, designed for connection of four lines and two reserve cells, two power transformers and bus coupler” will increase reliability of the feeding center.

By now, installation of the power transformer T-2 of 40 MVA in capacity and oil receiver has been performed; works on construction of two line cells and transfer busbar cells in the grid of 110 kV are held. The building of the indoor switchgear (IS) of 6 kV is constructed now, which will room the substation control panel and relay protection and emergency control automatic equipment, communication systems, automated process control and commercial electricity metering systems, battery, local distribution and direct current board.

The entire complex of reconstruction works was carried out as part of the investment program of JSC “MOESK” and is intended to be performed before the middle of 2014. The allocations for renovation of S exceed RUR 590 mn.

“Vesennaya” 110kV substation, which was commissioned in 1975, supplies energy to the Podolsk District of the Moscow Area and provides electricity to the city of Klimovsk with the population of more than 50 thousand people, all industrial and socially important facilities of the city.
The renovated substation will expand the customer base by adding new electricity consumers to MOESK grids, as well as improve reliability and quality of electricity supply to consumers of the Southern Moscow Area, social and industrial facilities.
