MOESK’s Specialists Carried Out Approximately Fifty Lessons on Electrical Safety on Eve of Summer Vacations

JSC “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” carries out a series of lessons on electrical safety before summer vacations in schools and kindergartens of Moscow and Moscow region in the frames of charity campaign “Kind electricity – to children”.

The campaign is approved by the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, and temporary acting Governor of Moscow Region Andrey Vorob’yov. It is aimed at children’s electric injuries prevention and includes a broad range of arrangements: methods development and lessons conduct on electric safety, training workshops for teachers, excursions to MOESK’s power facilities, full treatment of the topic in mass media, etc.

In the year of the campaign’s 5-anniversary lessons got new form – they are conducted by students and teachers of the chair of Engineering ecology and occupational safety of “National Research University of “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” (“NRU of “MPEI”) together with specialists of occupational safety service of JSC “MOESK”. The lessons have already taken place in Mytischi, Krasnogorsk, Lyubertsy, Zheleznodorozhniy, Balashikha and other cities of Moscow region. In an accessible game form students tell children about the role of electric power in people’s life, advantages and risks, tied with its use. Analysis of rules omission cases is also made, supplemented by photo and video comments, meaning of warning and restrictive signs, installed at power facilities, is explained. Special interest of children was raised by demonstration of first aid rendering methods in case of electric injury on manikin. In order to solidify the received knowledge in the end of the lesson children are given lessons timetable and memorable souvenirs: magnets and trinkets with electric safety rules on them.

All together MOESK’s specialists conducted in educational institutions of Moscow region approximately 50 lessons before the beginning of summer vacations.

Besides, on the eve of mass summer children’s recreation training workshops for teachers of eastern, western, southern and northern Moscow region were held in order that the teachers were able to conduct lessons on electric safety in their educational institutions in future.

Reference: Campaign “Kind electricity – to children” have been held in JSC “MOESK” since 2009. For this time the Company’s employees organized lessons in more than 500 children’s educational institutions and summer health camps of Moscow region, on which more than 25 thousands of children were present. The experience of a campaign conduct gives evidence that knowledge, received by children in the course of lessons on electric injury, reduce risks of electric injuries among pupils of all ages.
