MOESK’s Electric Vehicle Participates in Ecological Run

Today, on June, 05 approximately thirty crews set out on ecological car run “From past to future” from Tverskaya square. Among participants there was hybrid vehicle Chevrolet Volt from Moscow Cable Grids of JSC “MOESK” with starting order 30.

It is the third run, organized by Department of Natural Resources Management and Environmental Protection of Moscow. In 2011 rally started from Vasilievsky Slope to Voronezh. Last year a car run Moscow-Pskov on hybrid, electro- and vintage cars took place. Fantastically beautiful cars, manufactured in the middle of the past ages, ultramodern cars with gasoline engines and cars of future – with hybrid and electric power units participated in all runs. Zest of today’s start was participation of electric vehicle of 1913 year of manufacture in it.

The goal of car run “From past to future” is to attract attention of public to environmental problems and natural resources saving, introduction of new technologies, new types of vehicles and alternative fuel types. Route of the run: Moscow – Chernogolovka – Kirzhach – Kol’chugino – Yur’yev-Pol’skiy – Shuya – Rodniki – Kineshma – Yur’yevets – Puchezh – Chkalovsk – Gorodets – Dzerzhinsk – Vyazniki – Vladimir – Moscow. Among the arrangement’s goals was popularization of ecotourism. Mobile laboratory of “Mosecomonitoring” takes part in ecological run of 2013, which will perform measurements of atmosphere air on the route. As well as last time judges will record not only crews’ accuracy, but also amount of the used fuel, they will correlate fuel consumption with mass and capacity of a car. The most efficient car wins in its class.

Participation of MGC – branch of JSC “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” in the run is explainable. It is “Moscow United Electric Grid Company”, that realizes project “MOESK-EV”, which laid the foundation of creation of charging stations network for electric vehicles in Moscow. The Company’s plans are also known for transfer of the part of own motor vehicle park from petrol drive to electric. These will be passenger cars, trucks and minibuses. Today the realized project exceeded the scope of one company. Charge infrastructure is being established on the basis of MOESK.

It started on June, 5 for a reason. This day Russia celebrates Ecologist’s Day, and the whole world – World Environment Day.
