JSC "Moscow United Electric Grid Company" (MOESK) improves approaches to providing high-quality and reliable power supply to the territories connected to the Moscow Area. The peculiarities of the power engineers work, as well as the course of preparation for the upcoming autumn and winter season were covered by the heads of MOESK during the press conference held at the media center "Arguments and Facts".

The journalists' questions were answered by the first deputy technical director Vadim Shomesov, director of the Occupational Safety Department Natalia Shatalova and Deputy Technical Director for distribution grids Andrey Miridonov.

The key topics discussed were as follows: peculiarities of the MOESK activities in the Troitsk and Novomoskovsk administrative districts (TNAD) of the capital, the company’s work in the field of consolidation of the company’s electric energy assets, as well as relevance of the activities to prevent electric traumas.

To improve the quality of power supply for consumers, a new power supply system for these administrative districts is elaborated. The paper will consider the appropriateness of the development of distribution grids 6-20 kV, and construction of new supply centers subject to capacity conservation.

Vadim Shomesov noted in his speech that the current scheme of the electrical grid in the connected territories is significantly different from the capital one. "Building of a grid is conducted by the radial principle: one line - one transformer and so on. This means there is no standby power sources, inability to automatically switch to other feeding centers, as is done today in Moscow,” he explained. “The new scheme will be built subject to these features, aiming at the highest standards of the capital metropolis grid operation.”

It should be noted that to date, on the average during the year, it takes 47 minutes for energy specialists of MOESK to eliminate technological disturbances in Moscow grids. This figure is 167 minutes in the territories of New Moscow, in the Moscow Area - 182 minutes.

Deputy Technical Director for distribution grids Andrey Miridonov in his speech dwelt on the technological innovations and modern equipment used in MOESK (self-supporting insulated wire of type SSIW-2 and SSIW-3, cable grids with polyethylene insulation, reclosers, new wooden electric poles of PL, etc.). The question of creating a digital substation based on MOESK is elaborated. Pre-project works are held.

Natalia Shatalova, director of the Occupational Safety Department of MOESK, summing up the discussion, particularly emphasized that along with reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers, one of the key objectives of the energy sector is to ensure safe operation of equipment located in close proximity to residents. To solve this task, MOESK holds special work with the population, special programs and charity events are implemented, including the event "Kind electricity for children", which is becoming increasingly popular in the capital region.
