IMG_7334.JPGThe branch of MOESK Moscow Cable Grids (MCG) is completing preparations for the holding of the professional skills competition “Best in Profession” among crews for repair of equipment of transformer substations switchgears.

The competition will be held on September 25-26, 2013 on the base of vehicles enterprise #4 and the internal training arrangement department. The main purpose of the event is preparing for the autumn -winter period in 2013-2014, improving the quality of work and safety during repairs of electrical equipment, improving staff training, exchanging experience, reducing the number of incidents and accidents.

Preliminary works in MCG have basically been finished. A central judicial commission has been established for the competition, which is headed by the Deputy Director - Chief Engineer (chairman) Stepan Todirka and First Deputy Chief Engineer (deputy chairman) Victoria Vostrosablina. The commission includes the heads of administrations and divisions of the activity lines and the chairman of the trade union committee.

On September 25, the cable grids administrations (CGA) of the western, central, eastern, north- eastern and south-eastern districts participate in the competitions. The next day is the day of CGA of the remaining districts. The competition involves one team from each CGA consisting of: master, two electrical fitters and driver of the car repair shop.

The first stage of the competition will test the theoretical knowledge of the participants, the team members’ ability to provide the first aid to the victim: artificial respiration and chest compressions, bleeding stop, etc. The second phase will check the condition of the car repair shop. In particular: the availability and sufficiency of tools, equipment and means of protection. All ten teams will demonstrate practical skills in the field of repairing electrical equipment during the practical stages.
