Transformer Capacity of MOESK’s Substation in Western Moscow Area Has Increased 220 Percent

JSC “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” has completed the design and survey work and begins reconstruction of the substation 110/10/6 kV “Dar’ino”, located in the Odintsovo District.

In the course of the retooling works, the energy specialists will replace two existing power transformers. Thus, the total transformer capacity of the substation will increase from 50 to 160 MVA (the difference will be 220 per cent), which will significantly increase reliability and quality of power supply. At the same time, it is planned to perform the work of reconstruction of outdoor distribution unit (ODU) of 110 kV. Modern circuit breakers will be used instead of the obsolete oil circuit breakers. A new modern building will appear for the equipment for indoor switchgear 10 kV, which will be designed for installation of 48 single-cable line cells with installation of 28 feeder cells.

The completion of all the works is scheduled for 2015. The use of modern technologies, equipment and materials will allow for reconstruction of the substation “Dar’ino” without disconnecting customers in the Odintsovo District.
