High-voltage cable grids (HVCG) – JSC "MOESK" branch has put the first chain of aerial cable line (ACL) 110 kV “Setun – Novokuntsevo” into operation after reconstruction.
The purpose of reconstruction – increasing of electrical supply reliability for consumers of the Western administrative district the city of Moscow (WAD) in general and Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line of the Moscow underground in particular. Besides, the urban region for apartment blocks in block 95 of district “Mozhaiskiy” of WAD of Moscow was freed from PL (power lines).
Copper cable with isolation made of sewed polyethylene was used for implementation of the project on capacity increase of ACL 110 kV “Setun – Novokuntsevo” to 1,000 amperes.
The length was rather difficult for installing the line ACL 6,700 m. The method of horizontal directional drilling was used in 8 areas to cross roadways with heavy volume of traffic, it means that the cable was laid without excavation of trenches. It allowed to work without traffic stop and without opening of the road carpet.
The cable line is equipped with modern telemechanics, so the information about its condition will be sent to the control office of High-voltage cable grids (HVCG) – JSC "MOESK" branch.
Eduard Podadayev, director of High-voltage cable grids, made a stress that there were many things that appeared in this project, there were many technological subtleties which demanded full capacity-building, experience, skills and abilities from cablemen. “The commissioning of the second chain of (ACL) 110 kV “Setun – Novokuntsevo” is scheduled for September of the current year,” HVCG director said.
