MOESK Has Improved Reliability of Air-Lines in West of Moscow Area

JSC “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” continues to increase reliability of air-lines in the distribution grid (0.4-6-10 kV) in the Moscow Area West.

From January till June of the current year, the branch “Western Electric Grids” (WEG), within the repair program, made replacement of nearby 300 km of wire by self-supporting insulated wire type SSI-2 and SSI-3, that made 82 % from the annual plan. It was made for reliable and qualitative electricity support for consumers.

Owing to the multicore wire, covered with an insulator material, the operating period considerably increases and losses of electric power transmission reduce. Reliability of electrical supply considerably increases, first of all for rural settlements.

It is planned to spend RUR 578 mn for equipment major repairs in the West of the Moscow Area.

According to the Director of the Western Electric Grids Victor Ivanov, the branch carries out the whole program on distributive complex renovation according to the schedule made in advance. “The main goal is to be prepared for autumn-winter maximum of 2013-2014. Getting the passport of readiness for winter maximum of loadings will be the result of the actions complex carried out for renovation and modernization of power supply grid objects for the branch,” the director of WEG said.
