Power Engineers of JSC "MOESK" Modernize "Lagovskaya"110 kV Electric Power Substation

Power engineers of JSC “MOESK” branch - Southern Electric Grids started preparing for installation of the new equipment at electric power substation (S) 110 kV "Lagovskaya" in the Podolsk District of the Moscow Area.

During reconstruction, it is planned to expand the outdoor electricity distribution plant of 110 kV for installation of the static capacitor banks (SCB) of 50 MVAr in capacity. Power engineers will have to carry out installation of bussed supports, current-limiting inductors, current transformers, relay protection and automatics and other necessary equipment.

The purpose of condenser batteries use is to maintain the specification values of jet capacity in grid and possibility of voltage adjustment in the power supply system.

Design and exploration works, purchase and delivery of the equipment to S have been carried out by the present time. Works on area planning and communications are performed; erection of foundation blocks is carried out.

Scheduled time of the reconstruction ending – December 2013. The volume of capital investments exceeds RUR 59 million.

Payback period of the costs connected with organization of reactive power compensation system usually does not exceed three years. This is due to the fact that installation of SCB causes the reduction in cost for jet power consumed payment and allows to use the equipment with smaller nominal data.

S 110 kV "Lagovskaya" was put into operation in 1956 and ensure electrical supply of the Podolsk District: socially important objects of the settlement Lvovskiy (school, hospital, boiler-house, water intake system), Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) "TSNIITochMash", animal production unit "Romantsevo", etc. The new equipment commissioning will allow improving quality and reliability of consumers electric power supply.
