Electricity Consumption Continues to Increase in Moscow Region

According to the information by JSC “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” (MOESK), consumption of electricity in the Company’s grids for the first 9 months of this year has increased compared to the same period of the previous year by more than 2% and amounted to 58,507.8 mn kWh.

“This dynamics is explained by the natural annual growth in electricity consumption, as well as the development of the territories of New Moscow and the Moscow Area,” Vladimir Kimerin, director of the branch of JSC “MOESK” – “Energouchet” said.

Specialists from JSC “MOESK” note reliable operation of the electric grid equipment of the Company during the autumn peak loads. The grid complex in the capital region in the area attended by JSC “MOESK” operates stably, no significant breaks of power supply are observed.

Besides, MOESK continues to open new client service offices and improve online services regarding grid connection. It promotes the growth of the number of applications and connection of new customers to the grids of the Company, which in its turn increases the load upon the grid as well.

In addition, grid development-related works are held as part of the implementation of the investment programs of JSC “MOESK”. They include adding of capacity of existing feeding centers, construction of new facilities, including subject to the plans of the city and regional administrations for the development of the territories.
