JSC "Moscow United Electric Grid Company" continues to undertake measures actively against unfair consumers of electricity. Another raid in the framework of the action "Honest kilowatt" to identify unauthorized connections to the power grid was held in the village Kartmazovo in the territory of New Moscow.

Attention of the raid participants was drawn by a large two-storey brick house. It stands out strongly against the background of private houses of the villagers. A whole line was erected from the nearest power line to the house, which was built by the developer without permits. He was not too lazy to install a few poles and lay wires; however, he did not care to enter into an energy supply contract with the energy company.

The developer’s representative was not there, so the non-contractual electricity consumption report was made out without him. After that, energy specialists cut off electricity supply by way of de-energizing the willfully constructed power line from the existing line of JSC "MOESK". According to preliminary calculations, the residents of the house consumed without a contract 115 thousand kWh amounting to RUR 630 ths.

The employees of MOESK call citizens’ attention to the extreme danger of unauthorized connection to the power grid. "Usually connections are made by uncertified people without preliminary disconnection of the line and compliance with safety rules, and this creates a threat to their life and health. In this case, the supports were willfully installed in violation of existing norms and standard solutions, so they have begun to fall towards the buildings at the neighboring land plot,” Alexey Sychev, deputy head of Moscow EGD for client relations of MOESK branch Southern Electric Grids said.

The raid members in the village Kartmazovo witnessed another fact of thoughtless attitude of citizens to their security. In order to supply electricity to their apartment in a new house, someone laid cable from his or her land plot located opposite. In this case, the cable goes along the surface of the road where people and cars go every day, which may at any moment lead to a tragedy.

Strel'chenko Andrey, chief of the southern administration for energy accounting of “Energouchet” - the branch of JSC “MOESK” said, “The primary objective of JSC “MOESK” is to stop consumption without a contract in order to protect people's lives, since the initiators of unauthorized connections commit a lot of violations. Our second goal is to make this connection legitimate, encourage owners to sign an energy supply contract.”

Besides the damage caused to the grid company, the unfair developer have caused inconvenience to other villagers as well. During the raid, a local inhabitant came up to the staff of MOESK and complained about the poor quality of power supply; according to him, power is often not even enough for a microwave oven. Decline in the quality of power supply is one of the signs of unauthorized interference with the power grid. If you often experience surges, if household appliances break, perhaps someone has illegally connected to the grid of your house. In such event please contact JSC “MOESK” calling the Light Line 8 (800) 700-40-70.
