Student Construction Teams will be Formed in MOESK for the First Time

Within the framework of cooperation between JSC "MOESK" with specialized institutions of higher education, the company will take part in the revival of the tradition of student construction teams (SCT). Students of power specialties, being united in SCT, will gain practical skills at the construction sites of the Company in summer 2014.

Four teams representing 95 students of higher education institutions which are related with the electric grid complex will be formed, namely: National Research University "MEI", St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute, Rostov State University of Railway Transport. Senior students of specialized disciplines will be SCT participants.

In the period from 01.07.2014 to 15.08.2014, students will take part in the construction of new power facilities, cabling, repair of sanitary facilities for staff in EGD (electric grid districts), take subsidiary positions in the offices of the Executive Administration and branches of the company. At the current moment, work places allocation is coordinated with potential contractors.

A chief will be assigned for each construction team; students will be trained in the basic techniques of working. Strict control over compliance with the rules of labor protection will be carried out.

Future professionals will be provided with comfortable accommodation, free transportation to the place of works, medical care, and three meals a day. In addition, students will have a cultural program, excursion to the company's facilities; official opening and closing of the season with the tabulation of results are planned as well.

Let us remind that the project for the arrangement of student construction teams in the electric grid complex was first implemented by JSC "Russian Grids" in 2010. During 4 years, more than 2,000 students from more than forty higher and secondary specialized educational institutions participated in construction teams. Students visited the construction of more than 100 energy facilities in 8 federal districts, including involvement in the provision of electricity to APEC Summit 2012, the Universiade in Kazan in 2013, cosmodrome "Eastern" and Winter Olympics 2014 in Sochi.
