The autumn and winter peak demand period ended without major failures in the work of Moscow United Electric Grid Company.

MOESK had no major accidents or sustained interruption of electricity supply during the 2014–2015 heating season. All restoration works were completed during the established time frames and in accordance with the standards. The time required to restore electricity supply reduced in Moscow and in greater Moscow Area compared to last year.

According to the Central operations and process management directorate of MOESK, the historical consumption peak was not exceeded last winter. The maximum electricity consumption in the Moscow electric power system was registered on December 24, 2012 and amounted to 18.086 GW at -24 °C. In the 2014–2015 autumn and winter period the maximum electricity consumption in the Moscow electric power system was registered on December 3, 2014 and amounted to 16.845 GW at -4 °C.

The fact that MOESK electric grid facilities successfully withstood the autumn and winter period is the result of the smart technical policy of the company, which includes timely implementation of preventive measures and comprehensive repair and investment programmes. The company purchases special-purpose machinery and equipment, including mobile power stations. MOESK possesses 147 mobile power stations with the total capacity of 40 MW.

The preparation for the autumn and winter peak demand period included the relevant aspects concerning the personnel, namely knowledge testing, training, professional development, etc.
