MOESK (belonging to the Rosseti Group of Companies) trials marker lamps by installing them on overhead transmission lines for better visibility of the wires. The operational trials are held in order to avoid emergency electric power outages caused by breaches of the electrical safety rules concerning high-voltage electric power transmission lines.

It is planned to install the marker lamps to mark wire suspension in the areas of carrying out authorized works within the safety zones of transmission lines as well as at intersections with motor roads and railways, in the places where overhead lines cross over water obstacles and at the sections of the lines in the vicinity of airports and helicopter pads.

The first marker lamp of SL-10/500 type manufactured by Energotekhkomplekt, a Russian enterprise, MOESK installed in New Moscow on 110 kV “Letovo-Tyoply Stan” line. Based on results of the operational trials, a decision will be made on the possibility of a large-scale use of the marker lamps at facilities of the electric grid company of the Moscow Region.
